Background

Khan Phelan Kell is, arguably, the most well-known Khan in recent Clan history. His rise from bondsman to Khan is legendary in its own right. His many contributions to the Wolf Clan invasion allowed many planets to be taken with substantially fewer casualties than originally projected. His assistance during the planning stages of the invasion of Rasalhague, capital of the Free Rasalhague Republic, allowed the Wolves to take the world with a force that even the conservative Ghost Bears did not believe possible.

It was during the battle of Radstadt that Phelan became a ristar amongst the Clan. He led the rescue team onto the Dire Wolf's bridge and personally extricated Khan Ulric Kerensky from the wreckage. He also saved Star Commander Vladimir's life.

During the Clans' year-long hiatus, Phelan was officially adopted into the Wolf Clan and the House of Ward. He quickly achieved warrior status and a place in Natasha Kerensky's new Cluster, the Thirteenth Wolf Guards. Upon the resumption of the invasion, now-Star Commander Phelan Wolf led his Star to many victories, including the capture of Ragnar Magnusson.

All through the renewed invasion, Phelan fought in a Trial of Bloodright for the Ward Bloodname. The final phase of the trial was suspended while the Clans fought the bloody battle of Tukayyid. Both Clan Wolf and Phelan emerged covered with glory from this epic battle. Shortly afterwards, he defeated Star Commander Vlad in the Trial of Bloodright. Almost immediately afterwards, he was elected to be the Clan's new saKhan, replacing Garth Radick who was killed in the fighting on Tukayyid.

During his tenure as saKhan, Phelan led the Wolves through the Red Corsair crisis, teaming with the Kell Hounds to stop a Clan-affiliated bandit group. The Refusal War left Phelan with the shattered remains of the Wolf Clan's Warden faction. Though extremely low on reserve parts and equipment, Khan Phelan led his people to his homeworld of Arc-Royal where the Wolves created a new enclave on the southern continent.

Phelan's Wolves participation in Operation Bulldog netted the Clan a largess of materiel, but the Clan remains weak compared to the Crusader Wolves led by now-Wolf Khan Vlad Ward. The recent Trial of Possession with the Ghost Bears has radically increased the Wolves production capabilities and will soon have the Clan back to full strength.

Background

Once Natasha Kerensky's protégé, like Khan Phelan, Marco Hall comes from a relatively undistinguished Bloodline. He quickly proved to be a superior leader under her tutelage during his time as the executive officer of the Thirteenth Wolf Guards. He was reluctant to leave the Thirteenth Wolf Guards to accept the position of saKhan after Evantha Fetaldral recommended him. Khan Phelan allowed Marco to keep the Thirteenth Wolf Guards as his command unit, thereby removing his main objection.

During Operation Bulldog, saKhan Marco led several Beta Galaxy raids against the Jade Falcons. Though Beta Galaxy took many prisoners, they kept no bondsmen; returning them to the Falcons with a red black widow hour glass painted on their foreheads.
