Raised and jointly operated by several wealthy Capellan nobles from Aldebaran and Zurich, this unit was employeed throughout much of the last century in diversionary actions along the Marik border. Beginning in 3002, however, the Highlander's were reassigned to reaction-force duties in the Capellan interior They participated in the defense of Highspire in 3012, and fough against the Davion raid on St. Ives in 3014. Though possessing several competent officers, Ambermarle’s Highlanders are more a local militia organization than a regular combat unit, with all the social and somewhat negative connotations that suggests. Dubbed ‘Weekend Warriors” by other, more competent units, the Highlanders nevertheless continue to play at war, trying all the while to stay out of harm’s way and taking assignments with the highest chance for profit.
