Created about the same time as McCrimmons Light Cavalry, the Scouts saw their first action in 2934 and found themselves outclassed and outgunned by elements of the Atrean Dragoons defending Abadan. Though the timely arrival of McCrimmon’s command and a Warrior House regiment saved the day, the Scouts lost over half their equipment to combined Marik air and ground attacks. Re-equipped (the 3rd Battalion is now largely mechanized infantry), the Scouts drove off a Regulan Hussar attack on Ohrensen in 2950, capturing a badly needed support lance of Long Tom artillery. The Scouts’ fortunes changed again, however, in 2970, when on Harsefeld, they were decimated by massed AeroSpace attacks from elements of several Marik Militia regiments. Since that time, the Scouts have remained close to Tikonov as a reserve force.
