Purpose & Principles

Pro-Change International (PCI) is committed to organizational effectiveness and to the concept of community on a global basis. Our goal is to have a significant positive impact on thinking and behavior at all levels of organizational systems by building cultural bridges, by sharing knowledge, and by facilitating greater synergy and diverse acceptance of collaborative processes.

We operate according to the following principles:

• Our organizational architecture is a reflection of what we know and advocate in our work, and will continue to evolve as we continue to learn in our personal and organizational activities.
• We respect individual and cultural differences, attending to the needs of others and welcoming and including persons from all nations and cultures.
• We provide opportunities for personal and professional development by creating a learning community to pursue a deeper understanding of human systems, organizational evolution and change.
• We act in an honest, straightforward, ethical manner, maintaining sensitivity and commitment to the fair and equitable treatment of others.
• We suspend judgment and thoroughly examine all possible viewpoints before making decisions.
• We maintain and engender awareness of social responsibility to local, regional and global communities in social, economic and ecological contexts, committing time, energy and effort to improve communities in these contexts.
• We embrace as Core Values the concepts of respect, authenticity, synergy, honesty, social responsibility and professionalism, with our activities centering around three themes:
  1. Sharing: being open and honest with each other, offering and soliciting feedback and sharing information while always respecting individual differences.
  2. Learning: learning from our experiences and from each other, maintaining flexibility and receptivity to new ideas and willingness to innovate and take risks.
  3. Stewarding: acting in a professionally ethical manner in disseminating and implementing new and proven ideas, and monitoring the effectiveness of our activities in the mutual interests of all constituencies.
