I designed these web pages to serve a dual purpose:

(1) to provide easy access to what I considered (for my own personal purposes) to be the most useful and/or interesting sites I've found so far

(2) to provide a resource for other Internet "surfers" which I (as a professional librarian) have already screened for potential usefulness to other "netizens" and for seeming quality of content

Many of the links in these pages are actually links to sites which maintain another set of links to individual sites. (Such "meta sites" are the Internet equivalent of bibliographies in libraries.) This has been very deliberate on my part because it's one of the most efficient ways to get to informative sites. It's very practical in the sense that I don't have time to seek out thousands of individual sites; thankfully, others have done much of that work for me. My links to them are my crediting and thanking them for the service they have provided to the Internet community.
